A not-so-hidden fact: Hay Merchant manager Kyle Rahe loves trivia nights. Prior to COVID-19, he made it his mission to find the best, most engaging, most challenging trivia nights around Houston and stomped the competition. It’s an understatement to say he’s an expert in the realm of all things trivia.

Trivia nights have unfortunately become another COVID casualty—until now. On Wednesday nights, beginning at November 4 at 7:15pm, Kyle himself will host Hay Merchant Trivia Night. For the first few weeks, he’ll keep things fairly general with the following categories: TV, Sports, Music, Film, Geography, Science, Beer and Food & Drink. Once the Trivia Nights hit their stride, Kyle may throw in some themed nights to keep things trivial.

The format is old school: pen and paper with Kyle calling questions over a loudspeaker. Each round has assigned point values.

There will be prizes each week for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. For our first week, November 4, prizes are:

• 3rd: $10 bottle pick from Hay Merchant's cellar
